It is time for another round of Down the TBR-hole, where I go through the books in my To Be Read shelf on Goodreads and try to decide if I still want to read them (should they stay) or not (should they go?).

Broken Souls and Bones – L.J. Andrews
This is Viking inspired? My Goodreads’ friends who have read this has all give in it a 4 stars so I’m thinking it’s looking good!
Verdict: Stays
Yes, Chef – Grace Reilly
I think I got stuck at this beautiful cover. I’m not really sold by the social media aspect of the story. It is available at my audiobook service though so I guess I’ll give it a try. I should probably make a note somewhere, or make it a challenge, to actually start these “I’ll give it a try” books and then actually not continue in the cases where I don’t really like it.
Verdict: Stays
The Poet Empress – Shen Tao
I’ve only seen good things about this book and it has a surprisingly high average rating on Goodreads (4,38).
Verdict: Stays
Dungeon Crawler Carl – Matt Dinniman
What are the odds that I’m actually reading two of the books in the same post at the same time? This is the first one. I’m actually reading this together with my partner. I like it so far!
Verdict: Currently reading
Throne in the Dark – A.K. Caggiano
This is available at my audiobook service, adding it to my shelf!
Verdict: Stays
Remarkably Bright Creatures – Shelby Van Pelt
I’m actually reading this book while writing this post (for me, it’s now a couple of weeks in the past and you’ll probably get to know what I think of this book a couple of weeks in the future when I’ve posted the first book in a new challenge I’ve made for myself).
Verdict: Currently reading
The Weaver Bride – Lydia Gregovic
This sounds intriguing, I’d like to give it a go.
Verdict: Stays
The Sixth Faction – Veronica Roth
I loved Divergent when it came out! This book just released when I scheduled this post back in the beginning of October and I reserved it at the library as fast as I could when I saw that it had just released!
Verdict: Stays
Abigail – Magda Szabó
This is a book I think I stumbled upon on Pagebound but don’t remember the pitch for it. By just reading the synopsis, I’m not sure it’s something for me, but I think the combination of second world war and Hungary might be what peaked my interest. I’m not sure I’ve read anything from Hungary before? Also, the Goodreads synopsis both mention Jane Austen and J.K. Rowling as comparisons and I think that is an interesting duo on the same book.
Verdict: Stays
Butter – Asako Yuzuki
Butter is also a book I picked up from Pagebound. I created a discussion post where I asked for recipes in books that people actually had tried to make. This got listed in the answers but I don’t think they had tried the recipe (and if I understand the synopsis correctly, the recipes might come from a serial killer so I think it’s a good thing if they haven’t tried it). I suggested this book as one of the options for our university book circle the last time it was my pick so it’ll at some point be read in my challenge to read the options that weren’t picked.
Verdict: Stays
Half a Soul – Olivia Atwater
I think I first stumbled upon this in a Booksandlala video. It sounds like it could be fun so I’d like to give it a go. Since I’m already signed in at the library, I reserved this one as well.
Verdict: Stays
Africa Risen – anthology by a bunch of different african authors
I found this book when I was looking for African books for out African authors theme at our work book circle. It’s an anthology with science fiction short stories. I’m still interested in reading this.
Verdict: Stays

It’s been a while since I reserved books while making these posts, because once I started all of them came at the same time and I didn’t have time to read them all, haha. But this time I got very excited for the newly released The Sixth Faction, you’ll probably see a review (or thoughts in some form) here soon when I get my hands on it. I’m on place number four in queue for the two books that are ordered but still not in place at the library, so we’ll see when it’s my turn. I might not be as excited for it when it comes and I also have the option to listen to it before then but I think this is a book I want to read with my eyes.
What other books should I prioritize from this list, aside from the two I’m already (and might have finished by the time this comes out)?
