Original title: First Test
I give this book 5 stars out of 5 possible.
First Test is the first book in the Protector of the Small Quartet series. This book is followed by Page, Squire and Lady Knight.
Keladry of Mindelan wants to be a knight. She is the first girl who comes into training since it became legal for females to train for knighthood. Lord Wyldon, the training master of pages and squires, does not believe that girls can become knights. He puts Kel on a trial period for one year. During that time she has to prove that she isn’t weaker than the boys. The problem is that it’s not all boys who wants her there.
I absolutetly love Tamora Pierce’s books! I love how she writes, how she built her stories and characters. It’s cosy and it’s hard to stop reading until there’s no book left. This is a story about a girl proving that she can be as good as boys, if not better. She fights for her rights.
I’ve read this series once before, and it’s one of those I can read over and over again.
The Protector of the Small Quartet-series takes place after the Song of the Lioness and The Immortals series. It’s a new story but people from the other series appears sometimes.
Absolute worth reading!
