Jane

Jane – April Lindner

Original title: Jane

I give this book 4 stars out of 5 possible.

Jane’s parents dies. What she gets from their will is not enough to pay for her college. So she drops out of school and starts working. She becomes a nanny. For a rock star’s daughter. It might have been easier if she didn’t fell in love with him.
This is Jane Eyre in modern time.

I didn’t know what do expect from Jane. I read Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë not too long ago. I thought it’d be fun to read the story from a different point of view. In our time. I were a little afraid that I might not like it. And at first, when I started reading, I were a little sceptical. I didn’t like Rathburn. I didn’t think that he could be as Rochester. But Rathburn grew on me.
And I thought Jane were too weak, she didn’t stand up the same way she did in Jane Eyre. But as soon as she met Rochester she became stronger.

The basic story is the same, but some things are different. I like the different stories in different ways. The atmosphere is different and you behave different in different times. I think April Lindner did a great job putting Jane in this world.

I recommend Jane to people who wants to read an old story in a new point of view.
