Original title: Hex Hall
I give this book 4.75 stars out of 5 possible.
Series: Hex Hall #1
The second book is called Demonglass and the third Spell Bound (will be released on March 29, 2012).
After doing a spell that goes wrong Sophie is sent to Hecate Hall (Hex Hall) as a punishment. It’s a school for witches, shapeshifters and faeries. After her first day, she’s got a crush on a warlock, three enemies and a roommate who happens to be a vampire. And then there is some mysterious person who’s been attacking people.
I’ve heard a lot of good stuff about Hex Hall and I were really excited to read it.
It’s an easy-read book. Not in a the-language-is-really-easy-kind of way, it’s more it doesn’t take that much thinking. In the beginning and in the beginning it wasn’t so predictable, it was first to the end I knew what was going to happen. I knew what was had to happen to make the next book good. I figured out who the bad guy was and I knew how the relationship-thing were going to end. I didn’t think it was a bad thing that I could figure it out, sometimes I like books I can predict. Of course I didn’t figure out everything, there was a nice twist in the end.
I don’t know if that made any sense if you haven’t read the book.
Hex Hall wasn’t like I thought it would be. But in a good way. I really liked it. I liked the characters. And the language – not too hard for a non-English-speaking-person, was nice. I think I would say this is a typical YA book; girls as the main character, something supernatural and of course guy problems.
I’m looking forward reading Demonglass. This is the British version of Hex Hall, so I’ll see if I can find Demonglass in British as well.
