Gilmoreathon summary

I am a Gilmore Girls fan and thought it would be fun to participate in this year’s Gilmoreathon. Since I am also participating NaNoWriMo in November I did not get in as much reading as I though I would but it was fun participating.

Here is my reading stats:
Day 1: 41 (Naked Heat)
Day 2: 50 (Naked Heat)
Day 3: 27 (Naked Heat)
Day 4: 17 (Naked Heat)
Day 5: 13 (Naked Heat)
Day 6: 9 (Naked Heat)
Day 7: 12+23 (Naked Heat + Vinterdrottningen)
Day 8: 11 (Naked Heat)

I came a little more than half way in Naked Heat by Richard Castle but did not finish it during the readathon. It is a good read so I believe it will soon be finished. This one fitted the prompt Read the next book in a series you haven’t finished. This is the second book in the series Nikki Heat, written by the character Richard Castle in the tv-series Castle. This series is not really as I would imagine how Castle’s writing would be like but I still like the books and it is apparent which characters is based on which from the tv-series.

I finished the short story Vinterdrottningen by Sara Dalengren. It fit the prompt Read a book set during fall/winter. I was a little disappointed. I think it was partly that I had different expectations to the short story than it gave me. Reading what it is about before reading it can be both good and bad. There was also this thing in the end. I think I liked the writing, though, I think I will reread it in the future, though, and read it with different expectations. I gave this short story 2 out of 5 stars – it was okay.

I also listened to the audiobook of First Comes Scandal by Julia Quinn. It was a cute listen. The narrator was not my favourite but it was not too bad. I liked that the main character had some cats, a nice detail. I didn’t really know which prompt to squeeze this book into, I was originally thinking the Read a book set in a small town but I’m pretty sure they didn’t live in a town so I chose Read a book that features a mother/daughter relationship. I wasn’t sure how much the relationship was supposed to be in focus but I’m still putting it there. I gave this book 3 out of 5 stars – I liked it.

I was originally planning to retry making the chai latte that is in my Gilmore Girl’s unofficial cookbook, but that didn’t happen. We instead baked some root vegetables in the oven, and I definitely count this one as a fall treat because it was delicious. Especially with feta cheese with it. To complete the Bake a fall treat & watch your favourite episode prompt I watched the 7th episode of the 5th season You Jump, I Jump, Jack. I don’t really have a favourite episode but this one I knew had a lot of early Logan in it so it was a good fit.

I managed to cross of some of the squares in the bingo board, there were quite many hits.

Did you participate in Gilmoreathon? How did you do?
