Down the TBR-hole #10

Lost in a Story started with the Down the TBR Hole posts. I have written more about this in my first post in Swedish. Shortly it’s about cleansing your TBR shelf on Goodreads. This should probably be done to my physical shelf as well but let’s not get too crazy.

We are now in January 2016, quite a lot of books were added to my TBR then. It’s quite a mix, how exciting!

The Impostor Queen – Sarah Fine
I can’t really decide what to do with this book. I was hoping that my library would have it but no luck. Maybe I’ll let it be on my shelf and hope it turns up or request them to buy it?
Verdict: Stays.

Anna-Lisas antik – Eli Åhman Owetz
I have actually read this one since taking this screenshot so it is no longer in my TBR shelf. I liked it.
Verdict: –

The Merry Adventures of Robin Hood Howard Pyle
I have always liked Robin Hood and such-inspired stories. Library has this one in Swedish so I think I’ll borrow it from there.
Verdict: Stays.

Britt-Marie var här / Britt-Marie was here – Fredrik Backman
I really like what I have read of Backman this far. This stays.
Verdict: Stays.

Ella Enchanted – Gail Carson Levine
I liked the movie with Hathaway, I assume that this is the same story. Not super excited but The library surprised me by having this, it goes into the to-borrow shelf.
Verdict: Stays.

Book of a Thousand Days – Shannon Hale
My audiobook service turned out to have this one. I suppose I give it a try!
Verdict: Stays.

The Seeker – Stephenie Meyer
I really liked The Host and liked the idea of a sequel. I’m not sure it’ll turn up though, any news about this one? I think I’ll remove it for now and if it is released I’ll probably hear about it then!
Verdict: Goes.

The Star-Touched Queen – Roshani Chokshi
I have a little trouble removing books from my TBR when they are available at the library. Not super excited at the moment but I’ll give it a shot.
Verdict: Stays.

The Vishakanya’s Choice – Roshani Chokshi
I think this one was added because of the assassin part. I’m not as intrigued now. It goes for now and if I like The Star-Touched Queen it might come back.
Verdict: Goes.

The Forbidden Wish – Jessica Khoury
I don’t remember this book, I’m not sure how I was recommended it. Aladdin retelling sounds fun but I think I’ll skip it this time.
Verdict: Goes.

Illuminae – Amie Kaufman
I’ve heard a lot of good things of this one. And it’s in space? Stays.
Verdict: Stays.

The Reader – Traci Chee
Nah, not excited for this one anymore. Not available at the library either and I don’t want to buy it.
Verdict: Goes.

How did it go this time?
Books in the TBR shelf at start: 240
Number of staying books: 7
Number of leaving books: 4
Total amount of leaving books: 40
Number of reserved books at the library:
Number of books put in to-borrow-shelf: 4
Number of books added to audiobook-account: 1
Current amount of books in my TBR shelf: 242

My TBR shelf is still growing even though I’ve removed totally 40 books with these posts. Even though I have added some of the books that are on my physical shelf since the last post, I am only one book more than then. I am at the moment mostly reading books from my own shelf now that the nearest library is temporarily closed so I should be able to work through some of the books in the TBR shelf as well!

Have you read any of these? Did you like them?

Ella Enchanted verkar ju kul! Speciellt när man har Hathaway i bakhuvudet… Bra (fast smörig) film…
