Down the TBR Hole #12

Lost in a Story started with the Down the TBR Hole posts. I have written more about this in my first post in Swedish. Shortly it’s about cleansing your TBR shelf on Goodreads.

Bridge of Snow Marie Rutkoski
In my previous Down the TBR Hole post I removed the last book in the trilogy because I couldn’t find them at the library anomore. I might have been spelling something wrong or they’ve restocked the shelves (I admit the first option is more believable) so I think I might want to keep this one as a reminder that I am indeed curious to read the end of this series. I probably will have to re-read the first two books first and my to-read pile from the library is rather big at the moment so I think I will wait a little before I reserve them from the library.
Verdict: Stays.

Glass Sentence – S.E. Grove
I don’t remember adding this to my Goodreads. After reading the synopsis I’m a little hesitant towards the traveling but intrigued by the pirates. The library had a copy so I’m putting this in my to-borrow-shelf. While searching for this book in my audiobook service I kind of added another book to my shelf there, so there’s a point for that as well. This one was not to be found there though.
Verdict: Stays.

Assassin’s Apprentice – Robin Hobb
I’ve been meaning to read some Robin Hobb book for quite some time. The library had this one in Swedish (Mördarens lärling) so that one is now added to the to-borrow-shelf.
Verdict: Stays.

Stolen Songbird – Danielle L. Jensen
I still find this book interesting, I’m not sure if I’ve ever read a book where trolls are such a big part of the story? Library has it so it’s added to the to-borrow-shelf.
Verdict: Stays.

The Spirit Thief – Rachel Aaron
Not sure about what to do with this one. Neither the library not the audiobook service have it and I’m not sure I want to buy it but I find it interesting. Maybe I’ll just let it stick around and see if it pops up somewhere…
Verdict: Stays.

The Falconer – Elizabeth May
Another book that I can’t get my hands on for free but I’m interested in reading. Stays for now.
Verdict: Stays.

Perfected – Kate Jarvik Birch
This is the first in a series, I didn’t find this title at first but found the second and third in the series. To make sure that I didn’t loose it again I reserved it from the library.
Verdict: Stays.

The Return – Jennifer L. Armentrout
As I understand it, this is the first book in a spinoff series from the Covenant series. I liked reading that series at that time (even though I preferred Vampire Academy that the Covenant series seems to be based on?). At this time I’m not that tempted to pick it up so I’ll let it go.
Verdict: Goes.

Don’t Look Back – Jennifer L. Armentrout
I’m not interested in picking this one up either, I’ll let it go.
Verdict: Goes.

Etiquette & Espionage – Gail Carriger
I started reading this book at some point but returned it to the library. I’ve been meaning to pick it back up so it’s been in my to-borrow-shelf ever since. I’ll keep it there and see if I’ll pick it up.
Verdict: Stays.

Outlander – Diana Gabaldon
I’ve watched the first season of this series adaptation. There is some scenes that I had some trouble with and that I’m a bit hesitant to read but other than that I’m interested in reading it. My audiobook service has it as an ebook so I added it to my shelf there. Maybe I’ll pick it up.
Verdict: Stays.

My Brilliant Friend – Elena Ferrante
I was recommended this book by a classmate at my first year at university. I have since realised that this book is not for me. I don’t think I’ll enjoy reading this book so it’ll go. If you think I’m wrong, then I guess I’ll have to add it again!
Verdict: Goes.

How did it go this time?
Books in the TBR shelf at start: 240
Number of staying books: 9
Number of leaving books: 3
Total amount of leaving books: 46
Number of reserved books at the library: 1
Number of books put in to-borrow-shelf: 3
Number of books added to audiobook-account: 2
Current amount of books in my TBR shelf: 242

I haven’t made one of these posts for a couple of month and I’ve apparently added a bunch of new books to my shelves during this time because my to-read-shelf has more books in it than when I started making these posts. I don’t think that’s a bad thing, I enjoy finding new things to read and I have actually been reading stuff from my TBR shelf as well!

Just before I started writing this post I actually added five of my most recent added books to my audiobook shelf. I’ve bought an ereader that is connected to my audiobook service so I’ll give it a go and try to read some of the ebooks they have available. I have previously been reading some of them on my phone, but I’m not too keen on reading on my phone. Now I just have to wait for it to arrive so I can start reading them!
